EV Consumer Market Segmentation

Analyzed factors related to several key electric vehicle (EV) consumer market segments that help describe a path from early adopters to the mainstream. Enhanced understanding of the following market segments has been used to inform EV outreach and education strategy:

  • Rebate Essential participants: those who said they would not have purchased their vehicle without the rebate
  • Those who found the federal tax credit for purchase of their EV extremely important in making it possible to acquire their EV
  • EV Converts: those who had little-to-no knowledge of or interest in EVs when they started looking for a new car
